With cooperation from Warp (for sft)ware and Dodeca (for a 12 lens
camera), Virtual iO demonstrated just this effect at SIGGRAPH this
summer.

The viewer could watch a short movie that takes place in a basketball
court.  The viewer can look anywhere at any time while the action and
sound occurs around the.  A static version of this technology is
included with each pair of PC i-glasses!
