This Working Group was created at the beginning of 1994, with the support of the CNRS (French National Center of Scientic Research). The group is composed of 24 academic and industrial research teams from all regions of France. The aim is to federate the research efforts of the teams working in the different application fields of virtual reality. For that purpose, we have organized three workshops: - in Paris (27 april 1994) 15 teams, 20 people, mainly to introduce the teams - in Sophia-Antipolis (11-12 july 94) 22 teams, 42 people with an invited conference (Pr Henry Fuchs, University of North Carolina), talks and demonstrations. - in Grenoble (9-10 february 95) 25 teams, 66 people with talks and demonstrations. We focused more on tactile feedback. The next workshop will be held at IRISA in Rennes the 5th and 6th Decembre 1995. As it is a national workshop, all the talks will be in French. Moreover, we also edit an electronic journal called "REVERIES" (Dreams in French) every 10 days which gives information (in French) about the working group and includes calls of paper, conference programs, doctorate or jobs propositions, etc... More than 60 people have subscribed to REVERIES. You will find the last issue at the end of this mail which gives more information about the workshop. Elles seront composees : o de presentations scientifiques d'une demi-heure (voire plus) proposees par les membres du GT ou des exterieurs. o de demonstrations et d'une visite du CELAR (centre etudes de la DGA : simulateurs d'helicopteres et de chars) - Le Groupe de Travail prendra en charge une partie des frais de mission des orateurs. Mais pour cela, il est necessaire de s'y prendre le plus tot possible. Aussi, si vous souhaitez faire un expose, renvoyez l'appel a communications ci-dessous avant le 15 NOVEMBRE 1995 imperativement. - De meme, pour des raisons d'organisation, nous vous saurions gre de renvoyer au plus vite le bulletin de pre-inscription ci-dessous.
