Now, here is the new announcement: A Virtual I/O i-glasses! group
purchase! This is going to occur for several reasons... First, Virtual
I/O is anxious to help me do this and happy to provide for the Homebrew-VR
community. The have a nice amount of information regarding their products
on the Net (such as their WWW site) and have people that do actively
participate in VR discussion via the sci.virtual-worlds newsgroup and
mailing lists such as the Homebrew-VR and VRASP lists. They have a
genuine interest in our views and are happy to answer our questions and
other suchs things (things that we have had some problems with in the past
when looking for information, in my opinion).

Second (and probably even more important), we will be able to get very
good pricing on the units -- basically buying them at normal dealer cost!
The price to have a Virtual I/O i-glasses! (the full PC version --
including the head-tracker and bundled software) unit shipped to your door
is going to be $725! No tax or anything else to worry about!

The i-glasses! units are shipping right now. That means that once we
gather the 12 people necessary for the purchase, we will be able to place
the order and we will have the units in our hands within about a week and
a half from the order time! That means that if we gather the people
quickly enough, we could place the order and actually have the units in
our hands early in November!

In any case -- details for the purchase and specs on the i-glasses! units
will be posted soon. If you already know now that you will take one,
please let me know. Otherwise, the other post will simply have additional
details about how things will work and the features of the i-glasses!
HMDs. I believe that 12 units will be obtainable fairly quickly and that
this group purchase will soon become a reality! (virtual pun not intended
:)

Just let me know! Thanks!
