Is anyone aware of any commercially available studies of the current
and projected markets for image generators/graphics accelerators.  We
are interested in all price/performance markets, and ideally would
like to see existing mfgr. marketshare down some fine grain (2-5%)
broken down by market application (e.g. motion picture, combat
simulation, entertainment parlour vr, CAD, medical imaging, etc.).

We've looked at some of the more obvious places: Frost & Sullivan, and
Dataquest.  We haven't seen any market studies of the sort we'd like
in CGSD's Real Time Graphics, and some time ago the publisher said he
really wasn't aware that there was anything already out that would fit
our needs.

We also haven't seen any citations to research sources we could follow
in company reports gathered via Investext.

We suspect that there's probably some good stuff done, given the
degree of ongoing commercial interest.
