Co-Chairs: Anna Cicognani and David Week

                            Call for Papers

This two-day conference will discuss how collaboration - specifically
creative collaboration - can take place in the newly emerging virtual
communities (VCs) and virtual organisations. The conference will also
look
at the implications of creative collaboration for design in cyberspace,
and for the design of cyberspace.

The starting point of the conference will be an exploration of the
significance of Virtual Communitites. Cyberspace is no longer a sci-fi
invention, but a reality hosting a wide range of social and productive
activities. It is important new ground for research.

The conference will focus on three domains:

    Managing a VC
        Birth and Evolution
        Politics and Citizenship
        Linguistic Aspects
        Social and Law Aspects
        Virtual Organizations
    Designing a VC
        Tools for Computer Mediated Communication
        Designing Tools
        Communication Technologies
Specific Environments and Platforms for Design
    Designing in a VC
        Languages for Design
        Computer Mediated Communication
        Models of Design Collaboration
        Models of Design Communication
