Greetings,

As a field of active research, haptics and haptic interfaces is
relatively new. Haptics, for anyone who is not familiar with the term,
refers to the sense of touch, both tactile and proprioceptive. Haptic
interfaces allow force-feedback and manual interaction with virtual or
remote environments. In an effort to help the progression of research
and interest in this field, the Applied Science and Engineering
Laboratories of the University of Delaware and the A.I. duPont
Institute have created an email list server. This purpose of the list
is to create a forum for research discussion, questions, etc. as well
as to provide information on the latest applications, devices,
software, etc. As with all lists of this type, its success at meeting
these goals depends on the participants. There is no way for me to
reach everyone interested in haptics, so please pass this along to
anyone you know. Thank you.

To subscribe to the list, send a message to

haptics-request@asel.udel.edu

with SUBSCRIBE in the body.
The Subject: will be ignored.
Upon subscription, you will receive more information about the list,
and how to obtain information on list operation.

If there are any problems, please send a message to
haptics-approval@asel.udel.edu or myself at
fritz@asel.udel.edu.

hope to see you on the list,
Jason
