VictorMaxx Technologies was using the Cyber Air Base in a
location-based entertainment application we were developing earlier in
the year. We've had a generally positive experience with it. The air
base is a full 6 degree of freedom motion platform, using pneumatic
cylinders (no messy hydraulics). It has a simple, if quirky,
programming interface, and seems to be fairly durable. We've stopped
development on the LBE project, but we still use the platform to give
demos, and it has held up well. Having a true 6DOF motion platform
really added to the experience we were building (it was a driving
game), and it was only because more exciting business and technology
prospects arose that we abandoned the platform. Brad Engstrand, the
owner of ViRtogo, has been very helpful, coming to our facility to
debug with us (of course, his living half an hour from our office may
have something to do with that -- you may not get the same service :).
Brad can be contacted in the States at 1-800-490-5608.
