It's very different. We distributed our forms to about 120 companies
in germany via mail. Meanwhile I got about 20 forms back, and some
companies were very interested and announced that they will answer
soon. Some companies seem to ignore the survey, and only a few reject
it. Till now, only Opel (General Motors) telled me that they are
concerned about giving this information to us. Perhaps they are
frightened because of Lopez... ;-) Companies outside Germany are not
involved in our survey, because its to cost intensive. We try to get
information from other countries by using the internet. For this, I
posted the form in sci.virtual-worlds, sci.engr.mech and
sci.engr.manufacturing. There is also the w3 version on our server,
and I got 4 answers to it.

I think most companies which use VR believe that it's still a long way
for this tools to become relevant in the design process, and so they
hope that they will get new information by joining our survey.
