=== Live VR conference on the net
===
=== Call for participation
===
=== "What is Virtual Reality -
===      seeking a standardized definition"
========================================================

Date: Saturday, September the 1st, 1996
Time: 1h PM US Eastern time
Where: see http://www.imaginative.com/VResources/vr_conf/vr_month.html

This will be the first in a series of VR oriented conference we plan
to host with current Internet live exchange technologies. If the
experience shows to be concluding enough, we will host such a
conference session on the first Saturday of each month.

Since we would like to reach the most people we can, Saturday seemed to be a
good day. Also, the hour of the event has been fixed to take into account
that people from all around the planet would be interested to join in. We
hope that people living in Europe, United Kingdom,... will find the event
hour practical enough. There is a lot of dynamism in these countries in
regard to VR so we wouldn't want to neglect you all there.

I can't emphasize enough about the participation aspect of this event
in order for it to be successful. There is no real assistance
limit. All this is free so take advantage of it. Our objective is to
have a crowd of at least 75 persons. This could go up to 200 - 300
easily. The more people we can get on-line, the more variety we will
get in the discussion.

To attend this conference at the given date, all you need to do is go
at VResources and enter the Conference section. Follow the links and
instructions there. Should there be any problem installing, please
read the FAQ section at VResources first. If you don't find the answer
there, feel free to e-mail us to get help.

Please be on time. People should begin to join in half an hour or so
before the time given. It is advised that you make sure you have
successfully installed the required software a few days before the
event. You can test your installation with the "VResources LIVE"
section which use the same chat system.

I'm giving a special invitation to our top VR personalities in the
field to participate to this. We could eventually build up a panel
like conference with multiple moderator in the room to give answers to
people.

Some of you have asked me if it was possible to get an "after the
event" resume. We will log the whole session and put it on our web
site, VResources, a week or so after each of these conferences, so
that people who can't attend will still get a chance to see what
happened and what came out of the discussion. But we still need
participant in order to get that log full! ;-)

Hope to have you in great number there. There is no limit in the
number of people that can attend and participate to the event.

To get an idea of the crowd, I would like you to E-mail me if you plan
to participate. Please make sure you have successfully installed the
chatting software on your system before E-mailing me to confirm your
presence. Please use "VR CONFERENCE" as the E-mail subject to make it
easy on me to browse in the flood(Hopefully). Thanks.

See you all there live!

Regards
