First International Conference on Creative Collaboration in Virtual
Communities

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
----------------------

The scope of this two day conference is to present and discuss issues
regarding the new born virtual communities (VCs), virtual
organisations and how collaboration, specifically creative
collaboration, can take place in these environments. Invited speakers
will be asked to give keynote presentations and a call for papers will
select other works and research done in these fields. The conference
will be an introduction to collaboration in VCs and their implications
for the design of/in cyberspace.

At the end of the conference, a scenario planning session will build
up scenarios for VCs in 5 and 10 years. An expert of strategy (Hardin
Tibbs), following the GBN's strategy of Scenario Planning (see
Schwartz, The Art of the Long View, 1991), will guide the final
discussion and will produce a document which will summarise what
discussed in the two days, and depict a future scenario for VCs and
collaboration. This document will constitute the "memory" of the
conference and will be published on the Web and other media.

The conference will also be broadcast via MBONE, in real time, and
taped and re-broadcast in a delayed time. The installation of a MOO
will supply the virtual meeting place for the conference. VRML demos,
Web based demos, QuickTime VR animations may be provided.
