As I read your comment I could not help but think of several different sports applications for virtual reality. I do some basketball officiating so let us imagine....... stepping into some kind of artificial room like the holideck (sp?) on the Enterprise. We want to get some practice officiating so we run the "Ref" program and one can practice refereeing a game before even stepping out onto a real court!
