Division,Inc.,(Redwood City, CA) the world's leading supplier of
Virtual Reality systems has an immediate opening for a senior
operations engineer.  Division sells a range of VR products, including
complete VR systems, VR accelerators for HP workstations, VR software
for HP workstations and SGI workstations, and peripherals such as Head
Mount Displays.

The senior operations engineer will primarily be responsible for
configuring virtual reality systems prior to customer shipment,
hardware and software installations at customer sites, and field
repair. This work involves such tasks as loading UNIX system software,
loading application software, testing hardware and software and
identifying and solving problems. The operations engineer will also be
responsible for information systems set up and maintenance.

The experience and technical knowledge of the position are:


Experience with Unix based systems, e.g. ability to read tapes,
install drivers, change permissions, install boards, configure
systems( Hp or SGI experience a plus) Digital electronic and/ or
computer trouble shooting experience(board, memory and disk swapping
use of test equipment: DVM, oscilloscope) Ability to interact with
customers and present a positive impression to our customers Ability
to determine scope of problems and identify whether it is software or
hardware related Interest in Computer Graphics and VR Willingness to
travel five to ten days per month Info systems experience Windows,
Microsoft Word./Excel experience a plus Understanding of video signal
formats (e.g. NTSC, s-video, RGB) a plus BS in EE or CS or equivalent
experience
