Computer Generated 3D Pictures - Demo version for Windows

Introduction

Our computer generated 3D pictures were constructed using the
principles first invented by Prof. B. Julesz who made the dual image
random dot stereograms. Later, Prof. C.W. Tyler made a significant
improvement in 1989 to produce single image random dot stereograms
which are found in many popular 3D pictures books such as the Magic
Eye which has sold over a million copies worldwide (see TIME (1994)
Oct.3, p.52). All those publications and 3D products were done mostly
in USA or Japan (and illegally reproduced elsewhere). Now, we are
very proud that our Workshop is able to produce those 3D pictures with
additional improvement and unique effects that should be especially
attractive to the Chinese.

 Special Features
There are some interesting and charming features that can be found
in this software. Some examples include (for full version):
* most diagrams could be shown in full color or black and white.
* produce your own stereograms in various forms.
* possible to vary the display resolution (low, medium, high or very
high).
* SOME diagrams in forms of single image, dual image, random line
and/or
  semi-transparent stereograms.
* reveal the random dot stereograms in form of color contour maps.
* SOME very colorful 3D pictures with your favorite images and Fai
Chung
  for the Chinese New Year.
* a very special SHIMMERING effect to make pictures dynamic and easier
to view.
* regular printout of some figures in some dot-matrix, laserjet or
  color printers.
* an user manual on how to view 3D pictures

Hardware and software requirement
IBM or compatible 386/486/Pentium PC with VGA card, 1 MByte RAM and
about 1.5MByte harddisk together with Microsoft MS Windows 3.1 or
Win95
(or Chinese Windows version 3.0 or above) environment. Although
this software can partially support other type of display card and monitor,
it is recommended to have at least 256 color super VGA display hardware.

Applications of 3D pictures
The technology for constructing those 3D pictures could be applied
or has the potential (after further research and development) to apply for
many areas:-
  (a) Fine Art: 3D pictures, postcards, design, advertising,
wallpaper, tiles.
  (b) Research, Education and Industry: 3D mechanical model,
electronic circuit board, architectural model, R&D and educational
demonstration model with 3D viewing.
  (c) Information and encryption: protection of data storage.
  (d) Medicine and Psychology: a very useful tool for Visual Science
research as well as the brain behaviour research.

 Further Information
A full professional version which could accept any photo image as
foreground
picture and high resolution user-designed 3D hidden image (both in
Bitmap
graphic format as supported by the PaintBrush program in MS Windows)
shall
be released very soon. Besides, a DOS version is now already
available at a
price of HK$99 or US$15. Purchaser of the previous DOS version or
sponsor of
our Workshop can receive the upgrade one at a much reduced price.
Besides,
we could make very high quality 3D color output of postcard,
poster, wallpaper,
  tile, name-card, book/magazine cover and any large-size
advertisement board etc.
uniquely and specifically designed for the client. You are welcome
to collaborate
with us on application/technology transfer research of 3D pictures
or any other
  high technology.
