LECTURESHIP IN VR RELATED ACTIVITIES

The Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management
at University of Nottingham is a leading UK teaching and research
institution with major interests in advanced manufacturing systems,
operations management, ergonomics/human factors and computer
integrated technologies. As part of its University supported
expansion it has a number of new full-time permanent lectureships
(assistant/associate professor equivalent) available.

For at least one post serious consideration will be given to
applicants with a strong interest, and preferably a track record, in
development and applications of Virtual Reality/Virtual Environments
and in related advanced computer systems.

The Department is home to the Virtual Reality Applications Research
Team (VIRART) which has an established record in industrial and
educational applications of VR and in research into usability and
potential side effects.

Through its links with other research groups in the department, VIRART
has also developed its interests in technology development,
particularly integration of VR with other technologies, and in
usability through its sister organisation the Institute for
Occupational ergonomics. VIRART also has links with other virtual
environments groups on campus, notably the Communications Research
Group in Dept Computer Science. For more information on VIRART its
