I am trying to get a VR based training project setup for the USAF and
have jumping all over the nation gathering SIGNIFICANT information on
VR where ever I can find it.

Recommend you go to Armstrong Labs at Brooks AFB.
http://www.brooks.af.mil/al. I found there multiple studies based on
physical vs VR. My guess is most is related to pilot simulator studies.
Also, read Mr. Pierce's post - my only experience was standing as walking
around with a primitive HMD. Very little vertigo but visual focus was
impaired for a few seconds.

Hope this helps.
