".wrl" files are VRML.  Start with the VRML repository at
http://sdsc.edu/vrml and go on from there.

There's also the comp.lang.vrml newsgroup.

REND386, VR386 and AVRIL all use the ".wld" file format, which is
completely different from VRML (although I have written a WLD to VRML
converter, which you'll find on sunee.uwaterloo.ca in the
pub/rend386/converters directory).
