A mailing list has been created to allow discussion on all subjects
concerned with Collaborative Virtual Environments (CVEs).

To subscribe to the list, send a mail message to cve-request@cs.nott.ac.uk
with a body of:
        SUBSCRIBE <your name> <URL of your home page (OPTIONAL)>

There is a (currently very minimal) web page associated with the list at:
http://www.crg.cs.nott.ac.uk/~dns/vr/cve/
which among other things contains a list of current subscribers and links
to their home pages.

What is a Collaborative Virtual Environment?
--------------------------------------------

A Collaborative Virtual Environment (CVE) is one that actively supports
human-human communication in addition to human-machine communication and
which uses a Virtual Environment (including textually based environments
such as MUDs/MOOs) as the user interface. This is an exciting field with
much potential for inter-disciplinary collaboration particularly in the
fields of computer science, psychology, sociology, architecture & urban
planning, cultural & media studies and Artificial Intelligence.
