Organization: MAYA Design Group

MAYA Design Group is a leading provider of user-interface and
product-design services to the high-technology industries. MAYA's
business is "taming the complexity" of technology-intensive products
(both hardware and software) in order to increase their usability and
marketability.

We are actively recruiting talented and creative candidates at all
levels of experience with backgrounds in interaction design, software
human interface design, or human factors engineering.

Opportunities are available at both the entry and senior levels. We
are looking for applicants with intimate knowledge of the computing
scene and with technical savvy, who enjoy working closely with
engineers and visual designers, and who can help our clients develop
and market technology products with superior usability, visual appeal,
and engineering. Senior positions will also involve managing projects
and significant client interaction.

We are looking for talented individuals with the following
credentials:

Required for senior positions

    * At least five years of commercial experience in interaction design,
human factors engineering and/or human interface design, with a
history of successful product/project leadership experience.
    *   Relevant graduate-level academic work.

Required for all positions

    * Skilled at developing and executing project plans -- leading highly
skilled and technical teams for a diverse array of projects.
    * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and
collaborate in an intensely interdisciplinary environment. Superior
written and oral communication skills and demonstrated analytic and
        synthetic thinking skills.
    * Broad familiarity with computer technology and industry as well as
intimate knowledge of modern operating environments, including Windows,
OS/2 or X-Windows, Macintosh, and user-interface practices and
        conventions.
    * Practical programming or prototyping skills, including experience with
a high-level prototyping environment such as Visual Basic or HyperTalk.
    * Degree from a university-level cognitive psychology or industrial
engineering program or other relevant academic background.

Desirable skills for all positions

    * Broad range of technical skills, including software design, applied
research methods, data visualization, document-centered software and
        client-server development.
    * Consumer products or consumer electronics experience.
    * Experience with C, C++, Pascal, or other programming languages.

MAYA Design maintains core competencies in the disciplines of
engineering, human sciences, and visual design. By working closely
with our clients, engineering and marketing staffs, we help to develop
products that are more usable and, therefore, more marketable. We
serve diverse clients primarily in the computer software, consumer
electronics, and telecommunications industries.
