I'm looking for studies on the effects of long term immersion in HMDs.

For instance in:

Regan, E.C. (1993). Some Side-effects of Immersion Virtual Reality. In
Proceedings of AGARD Meeting on "Virtual Interfaces: Research and
Applications" (pp. 16-1 to 16-8). Springfield, VA: NTIS.

The subjects were immersed for 20 minute periods. Does anyone have
references regarding the longest any person has been immersed in a
virtual environment wearing a HMD?

Eugenia Kolasinski's dissertation on "Prediction of Simulator Sickness
in a Virtual Environment"
<http://www.hitl.washington.edu/projects/vestibular/kolasinksi/> has a
current review of the literature on simulator sickness as well.
However, long immersion isn't mentioned.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
