For the record, FORTE Technologies has released the programming interface
and API for free.  You can download it from our www site at
www.fortevr.com

The API includes both DOS and WIN95 support with WIN95 features including
Direct Input, Joystick Emulation, Calibration, Reverse Axis and CyberPuck
support.
