Is "text-based VR" immersive? Do you feel like you're left
the room you that your computer sits and have been transported to the
world of the MUD, or other MUD type game? I don't, and I'm a very
imaginative person. I have constant reminders that I am playing a
text-based game- the text flashing accross the monitor. for instance,
the keyboard that I type text based commands into, the lack of sounds
emmiting from the other players. I.E. the text game is not immersive,
which is one of the major factors of VR. At least text games are more
interesting that reading a textbook. I would agree that text games
are on the level of virtual interactive environments, maybe an
interactive text game would be a good name; like Brandon says, leave
VR for VR , VE for VE, and MUD for MUD.
