I think the thiggie you want is called the CyberSCanner.  This name
might be specific to the device the people at ILM (Industrial Light
and Magic) use, but they have such a device which was discussed in
this group a long time ago.

Check out http://delphi.beckman.uiuc.edu/vizlab.html, this lab have a
lot of equipment including the Cyberware Cyberscanner which I think is
the thing I was talking about further up.

Yep, just checked they have a whole body scanner for 410,000 dollars
