Some of these posts are quite old. Sci.virtual-worlds went through
some "crashes" in April. Sci.virtual-worlds is now in a safer place.

However, postings suffered time-lag.

Is there any homebrew areas on the internet? I am looking for things
other than hooking up a powerglove or shutter glasses. ie. taking the
flex fingers from the powergloves and using them on other joints such
as elbows, wrists, etc. Making HMD from scratch. Mandala type of
system. I just purchased an interacter and was thinking of taking it
apart and using it in sort of a chair for such things as flight sims.

I am looking at making my own web page and would like to add such docs
to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure by now someone's tried to couple Voice Recognition with
VR as a navigation/control tool.
Can anyone lead me to some information on the subject?

Greetings,

I am a Research Scientist at a Research Laboratory and
am interested in doing something in VR. I already have
some possible applications, but I need more technical
information.

I know a little about the equipment (eg HMDs, CAVE,
gloves and software tools etc.). I am trying
to find out what are the main research areas of VR.

Can some-one please give me some references or
information about the current research in VR.

Thankyou for your time.

Sabrina
