Dr. Holland's review is extremely accurate, with one exception. SimulEyes
VR does use a standard computer monitor, but runs at whatever refresh rate
is supported by the graphics subsystem and our drivers. In the case of
DOS games, the driver currently defaults to 80Hz, though when the first
games were written they used a 70Hz mode instead. As a result, it may
seem that they flicker a bit with those games. Descent and Descent II
will operate at a higher refresh rate by typing "stereo /hrefresh" to
start the game rather than just "stereo".

We are currently working with major graphics chip manufacturers who are
building in higher refresh modes for PCs, along with a standard jack for
the eyewear. This will result in broad scale availability of
stereo-vision on PCs by year's end at a fraction of the cost previously
thought possible.

As for VictorMaxx and NuVision, we welcome them. There's a huge home
entertainment market out there and their involvement helps legitimize the
product category in this new marketplace. The resurgence of stereoscopic
3D entertainment is coming...
