Cyberterm?

However, the information on "how to get it" at that site is dated
saying that it will be released in beta form towards the end of 1995.

The ftp site, most logically would be:

ftp://ftp.adelaide.edu.au/pub/cyberterm/

There is a notice from Michael Snoswell dated April 5, 1994:

"Cyberterm is currently undergoing multi-line testing and debugging.

Although a release is imminent, I won't put a firm date on it because
it'll be wrong (that's software for you!)

Keep an eye on sci.virtual-worlds for a release announcement."
