The following vacancy is readvertised (original posting was

VACANCY

VR_Systems U.K. is a small but expanding company, specialising in the
field of human-computer iinterface technology. Having recently won a
DTI SMART award for the development of an innovative Virtual Reality
display system, it is now looking for an Electronic Engineer to join
the team.

The successful candidate will contribute substantially to the progress
of the project and will be expected to lead the way in solving the
many problems that are likely to arise. An ability to input
progressive research, design, and development ideas, and to implement
those ideas effectively is a definite requirement for this post.

Other personal attributes required are good communication skills, an
analytical approach, self reliance, a desire for "hands-on" work and
problem solving, and a pleasant character.

Applicants should have at least a second class first degree in
Electronic Engineering, with a good background knowledge of Physics,
particularly optics. For this reason, the post would ideally suit a
candidate with a Masters in Electronic Engineering, and a Batchelors
degree in Physics, although this is not essential.

Experience in the following areas would also be of considerable
advantage to the candidate: embedded microprocessor system design;
software programming in 'C' and assembler; signal processing,
including analogue-to-digital conversion and Kalman filtering
techniques; and motion tracking sensor technology.

The starting salary will be 15,000 Pounds Sterling pa minimum,
depending upon experience, with review after 12 months. The starting
date is ASAP, with an official closing date for applications on the
29th November 1996 (although submissions after that date may be
considered).

To take advantage of this opportunity to advance with a fast growing
company, with the associated potential rewards, please send a covering
letter plus CV to Julian Eyre at the address below. (Applications
sent by normal mail are preferred, but if absolutely necessary e-mail
or faxed applications are acceptable).

VR_Systems U.K. is currently moving to a business centre in a pleasant
rural location near the busy market town of Romsey in Hampshire
(approximately 10 miles from the City of Southampton). The company
operates a no-smoking policy.
