I don't know of anyone specifically applying VR approaches to USMARC
collections. However, there's something related going on at Apple
with Project X (see http://www.atg.apple.com/go/Projectx/). They're
trying to use the Meta Content Format to provide browsable, 3D
representations of metadata, specifically including the Dublin Core.

At one point, I believe the Internet Public Library folks at the
School of Information at Univ. of Michigan were discussing the
possibility of using VR technologies (although I don't think they are
totally happy with their explorations of MOO as a library technology,
and that may affect whether they try VR).
