Hello. I'm a graduate student studying insect neuroethology. One of the
projects that I would like to instigate is a detailed anatomical model
of the nervous systems of several species of moth. Ideally, this is what
I would like to do:

Backfill and trace a efferent pathway, such as the ears. The ganglion
is then serial sectioned, and microscope imaged are digitized.
Resolution for these pictures would be down to the scale of 10
micrometers, and less if I use an electron microscope.

These images are fed into a three dimensional model, which I then use
for targeting decisions for interneural labeling. The process repeats,
ad infinitum or until my grant runs out, with the end product of a
fairly comprehensive and detailed anatomical map of at least the
efferent and afferent aspects of the insect's neural system.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a graphical package that is up to
the processing task for this? Any assistance whatsoever would be
_greatly_ appreciated.

	Danka.

	Scott
