I agree that the entertainment industry may be the largest commercial
market for HMD's and that there is a lot of money in that industry. -

"You might not like that fact, perhaps because entertainment still
isn't considered 'serious' in many quarters, but that's the way the
real world is. If the route to successful VR lies in cheaper systems,
then the entertainment market must be exploited to the full." - Ian

I choose to use VR technology for applications and research in areas
other than entertainment. Those of us who aren't involved in
entertainment are grateful for the money that has been brought into
the VR industry and the technological advances that have followed. We
all have different interests, and many of us are trying to use VR
technology for what we consider to be more practical applications,
such as training, simulation, etc. This is nothing against the
entertainment industry, BTW, I bought the Nintendo64 and enjoy it; I
do take my entertainment "serious." - Ray

"...this is your chance to solve many problems at once: ... produce a
high quality low cost *proper* stereo HMD ...Who will take up the
challenge? Whoever it is, for heaven's sake get a move on ...So where
are the HMDs? You guys have yet to deliver..." - Ian

Ouch, perhaps you could replace "your" with "our" and "you guys" with
"we." If there is adequate demand in the market for a particular
product, in most cases someone will produce it. Producing an HMD is a
bit more complicated than conquering Doom :) - Ray
