FWIW, you're uninformed about the costs of this technology. Onyx
InfiniteReality doesn't cost "multi-krillion" dollars, whatever that
means; and the new Onyx2 Reality systems cost well *under* six
figures. The idea here is to make these extremely powerful 3D graphics
and visualization supercomputers more accessible to more businesses
and organizations.

The Onyx2 InfiniteReality rack systems that display 11 million polys
per sec with ~600 million pixel fill (textured, anti-aliased) cost in
the low- to mid- six figures, and they're purchased by organizations
that make a major return on their investment as a result. And that's
not Quake authors.

But thanks for your hyperbole, because it gives me reason to say: If
you want Silicon Graphics pricing info in the U.S., call
1-800-800-7441. In other countries, contact the local Silicon Graphics
sales office; if you need the number, send me email.

For those who didn't know, this week Silicon Graphics introduced a
vast new line of workstations and supercomputers; you can find out
about them on the Web site at www.sgi.com.
