The MASSIVE event will take place at the Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham, UK at 7pm Sunday 10th November as part of the NOW ninety6 festival of contemporary arts. Tickets are 5 pounds (NOT 35 pounds). The event will consist of a multi-user virtual reality performance where both audience and performer have a virtual presence in a shared virtual space. The performers will be poets from Chocolate Art - Remi Abbas, Roger Robinson and Akure Wall and Nottingham's David "Stickman" Higgins. There will be two audiences; one in the Cafebar who can interact with the performers in virtual reality using a desktop VR interface; the other will watch the poets live, with the VR environment projected behind them. The MASSSIVE event is a collaboration between Nottingham City Council, members of the Communications Research Group at the University of Nottingham (VR software and technical support) and Sean Varney (world design).
