[    Exodus   ]
A free multiplayer online adventure game

A game with a rich history and fully-developed background, Exodus
offers an engrossing and enjoyable experience for those interested in
journeys through fantastic lands and intricate worldscapes. Interact
with your environment as it presents itself in the form of monsters
and intelligent entities that can engage in conversation with you.

-> What is Exodus about?

 Explore the continents with a party of like-minded players from
around the world, on horse, on wagon, by boat, through magical
gateways, or simply on foot. Do battle with fierce trolls, employ the
arts of subterfuge to bypass patrolling bands of dark elves, seek
counsel with wise dragons, and journey to faraway cities to learn the
secrets of your chosen profession from masters sequestered away in
guildhalls.

-> What about other players?

 Player interaction is integral to the participants of Exodus --
 be it forming a band of adventurers for the purpose of exploration,
 tracking down a devious thief in order to bring him to justice,
 engaging in a full-fledged guild war over control of a city or land,
 or just talking, the players make the game what it is.

-> How do I start?

 To begin playing Exodus, all you need is a service provider that
offers the telnet service.  Type:

 telnet reality.org 9000         on Unix-based platforms
 telnet reality.org /port=9000   on VMS-based platforms
 telnet://reality.org:9000       within your Web browser

If you do not have IP nameservice, type:
 telnet 206.64.4.18 9000         on Unix-based platforms
 telnet 206.64.4.18 /port=9000   on VMS-based platforms
 telnet://206.64.4.18:9000       within your Web browser

You will then be prompted to enter a name -- choose one that suits
the fantasy personality you wish to create, and follow the
instructions from there.

-> Help, I'm lost!

Typing "help <problem>" anywhere within Exodus (Substituting <problem>
with whatever you are having difficulty with) should help you. If
not, send email to me at mcconnvm@muohio.edu with a description of
your problem and I will assist you as best I can.
