I'll probably upset a lot of homebrewers when I suggest this, but if
you don't know what your doing, then *don't build the PowerGlove
interface*. The circuit does work, but it requires that you build it
correctly and know enough to debug it!

In response to your question, yes pin has +5v and pin 1 has 0V. You
should ensure that wherever you are obtaining these from is a stable
power supply capable of handling the required current.

The Printer Port PowerGlove interface is a hack and nothing more. It
requires quite precise timing to work properly, and often fails on
fast computers. If you have an overwhelming desire to build an
interface, then use the Menelli box (details found at Chris Hand's
page : http://www.cms.dmu.ac.uk/~cph ), since is this is a far
superior interface but therefore requires more building. If you feel
you are not competant to build and debug your own interface, then you
can buy new gloves pre-converted for PC use for around $55.

If you need help relating to the PowerGlove then try typing
"PowerGlove" into almost an search engine, and you'll be showered with
helpful links (try http://home.earthlink.net/~tbarratt/pg.html). There
is no point posting cries for help to newsgroups such as this because
the odds are that your problem is caused by: dodgy software, incorrect
interface construction, too fast a computer or a bad Powerglove, none
of which can be solved satisfactorily over email!

Cheers,

Robin
