In 1993, Kate Seeking was one of the founding members of
RenderMorphics, a UK firm that made a high speed real-time 3D software
rendering library called Reality Lab. On a business trip to America,
she met Mark Pesce and Tony Parisi, who would eventually use
RealityLab to develop the earliest versions of Virtual Reality
Modeling Language (VRML). In 1995, RenderMorphics was aquired by
Microsoft, and Seeking came back to the States to join Mr. Gatesı
staff as a 3D evangelist.

Currently working as a Program Manager in Microsoft's Java Group,
Seeking is still actively involved with VRML, sitting on the VRML
Consortium Board of Directors. In an interview with Shel Kimen, editor
in chief of the vrml.sgi.com website, Seeking discusses her role in
the ongoing development of the VRML 2.0 specs, Microsoftıs
commitment to VRML development, and the possibilities for using VRML
in conjunction with Java and other programming languages. Read it at:

[Author's note: As some of you may have guessed from my earlier posts
to sci.virtual-worlds, I am a professional evangelist who touts (among
other things) VRML awareness. Since I hate netwide spam as much as you
do, I've made every effort to make sure that my posts are relevant to
the groups in which they appear, rather than disruptive. For those of
you who are interested in learning more about VRML as part of creating
virtual worlds, I hope that these posts will be able to poit you
towards useful material.]
