Hi all...

I know this is a rather lame question, but a long, long time ago (in a
catalogue far, far away) I remember seeing an ad for a monocular, translucent
HMD. basically, the thing accepted NTSC and was reflected off a translucent
panel hanging down in front of one eye at about a 30 degree angle or so.
This was YEARS ago, e.g., back in 85-87. Also (please, hold the rotting
cabbages), the lead character is wearing one in Hackers (yeah, I know, I know.
But dammit, it's the only reference I have to this product. Sue me. :) during
the Grand Central Station Hack.

What I'm wondering is:
a) What is the manufaturer/product name for this thing?
b) how much does it cost (I'm assuming it's long out of production)
c) is there anywhere I could buy one? i'm also planning on picking up
a set of V i-O i-glasses (NTSC input) for my job (don't ask, you do NOT
want to know why I need a heads-up display on an hourly basis while in
my car...it may SOUND cool, but trust me, it sucks rancid walnuts...),
but, especially for the monocular aspect, I'd really like one of these
(not to mention the simple nostalgic factor that these were the first
HMDs I fell in love with, and realized I could afford in my lifetime.)

Please, please, please respond, and remove the nospam from the return
address when you do.

Muchas gracias,
Mark
