Are you interested in doing a MSc in Virtual Environments in a centre of
excellence ?

The University of Salford has already established itself as one of the
leading players in the field of virtual environments.  Its recently
established Centre of Excellence promotes research, teaching and
training in virtual environments.  This centre has brought together a
team of academics who have a national and international reputation in
virtual environments.  This Centre has strong links with mqjor VR
companies and is equipped with state-of-the-art VR hardware and
software.

The Centre now offers a MSc programme in Virtual Environments which is
unique.  This Masters programme has been designed to equip
participants, both with the theoretical understanding and with the
practical slcills, to enable them to enter employment as competent
system builders, as application builders, as consultants or as future
researchers in virtual environments.

The MSc programme comprises of taught modules, group projects and a
dissertation.  Taught modules will cover advanced 3D computer
graphics, VR hardware and software technology, VE systems, internet
programming and human factors in detail.  The taught element of the
programme will include lectures from guest speakers from industrial,
government and academic bodies.  The practical component will be based
on state-of-the-art conunercial VR hardware, software and modelling
tools.


Participants should have a first or a good second class honours degree
in information technology, computer science or a related discipline.
Those with other qualifications will be assessed individually
according to any relevant experience.

ESF funding is available for EU citizens.
