Dear List Members

I write to invite your involvement in a research project designed to
describe the future of virtual environments created by global
electronic networks. The project is the research component of my
Master of Marketing thesis which I am undertaking at Monash University
in Melbourne, Australia.

The outcomes of the research will be a description of possible virtual
environment futures, an analysis of the emerging issues for businesses
and consumers and a critique of existing business and market models in
the light of these possible futures.

The research methodology that I am using is the Delphi approach, a
description of which is at
http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/4681 . Participation in
this research will require written responses from you to three phased
questionnaires. Questionnaires have been developed to minimise the
response time required by you. The phase one questionnaire which
describes the research variables, some key assumptions and poses seven
questions for your consideration is also at
http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/4681 . The site also
includes a letter from Professor Mark Gabbott, Professor of Electronic
Marketing at Monash University confirming my credentials.

Regardless of your intention to participate or not I would appreciate
it if you could forward the above link to other appropriate persons
that you believe may add value to the process.

If it is your intention to participate can you please endeavour to
submit your response to the initial questionnaire by the 5th of
September. The final report, excluding any personal or corporate
identifiers, will be made available to each respondent.

If you have any queries regarding any of the above or the attached
please do not hesitate to e-mail me - rwebster@netspace.net.au. I
thank you for your consideration of this request and look forward to
hearing from you further in this regard.

Yours sincerely
Robert Webster
