GeoLogics Corporation, headquartered in Alexandria, VA, has started up a Virtual Reality Division out of the company's Houston offices. Leader of this new division is Francis Govers, who was recently head of VR for TASC, The Analytic Sciences Corp., where he was the creator of the popular "Gettysburg VR" project, as well as the VISION (Virtual Information Space Intelligence and Operations Network). The new VR Division of GeoLogics will be concentrating on bringing high-fidelity simulation science, artifical intelligence, and distributed, collaborative systems expertise to low-cost, high-payoff Virtual Reality, on SGI and Windows NT platforms.
