Prof.Bob Stone. of VR solutions fame, was a key author of a report
for the DTI in 1996 - which included a review of the UK VR marketplace
- it also outlined a typical business process model of technology
adoption. I believe Peter Swann at Manchester Business School produced
some socio-economic models based upon Bob's work and would be worth
contacting

While the report was DTI internal, a publis summary of this report was
published and is available report from the DTI's Information Society
office.

I believe an equivelent report was drawn up in the states in 1994 for
the National Research Council ( sorry can't remember the reference,
help Toni - anyone) while this would be considerably out of date by
now - there may have been a follow up. Also check out the Institue for
Defence Analysis review of peripheral technologies - avialable from
the HITLAB's website - knowledge space project. This was published in
1996, i think, and provides a good review of background material.

You could also try obtaining the final year reports and shareholders
reports for companies such as Division, Superscape etc.

Hope this helps,

Phillip Trotter.
