Look at the range of HMDs from Virtual i-O (http://www.vio.com) Their
cheapest is the VTV at $500 which provides lightweight stereoscopic
viewing of video images. Another $100 will get you the VPC which reads
video but also has head tracking, and can read the VGA signal from
your PC. If both of these are out of your price range, then
(monoscopic) HMDs are quite easy to build, and you can get info on
