    you'll find a good set of references to HMDs.  From what you discribe
    it sounds like the Virtual I/O i.glasses may be what you're looking for
    *if* you do not need to display text.  It costs about $700US which
    includes a VGA to NTSC converter and a head tracker (don't know off
    hand if they have a PAL version).  The i.glasses are see-through and
    have a plastic shield to cover the lens to make them immersive.  The
    field of view is relatively modest.

    I like mine but feel they are kind of flimsy.  It's not a problem if
    you're the type that takes good care of equipment, but I would not want
    to have a bunch of different people using them, at least not without
    close supervision.
