Subject: SOC: Ultimate VRML network in 30 years?

Internet VR is advancing fast, but it's still a long way from the
visions of science fiction. Meanwhile, there are still billions
of people living in poverty or stavation in Rwanda, Bangladesh,
Mexico City, and thousands of other third-world places. Will what
we do with VR here have any effect on their lives there? How, and
how soon?

A preliminary approach to this question has been published in the
online International Journal of Futures Studies with the title
"The impact of Internet virtual reality on global carrying capacity".

You can find it at http://www.systems.org/HTML/fsj-v01/gm-vrml.htm
While it's not a hyper-article itself, it's heavily hyperlinked to
other sources on the Web. I hope you find it interesting.

Evolution: Selective replication from a population with heritable variation.
Evolution of Complexity: Like with size, there's always room at the top,
if the infrastructure can handle the load.
