Well, now I went and got myself interested in VictorMaxx again -- so
after sending my last message, I continued doing some DNS searching
looking for more information. As I said, VMTI.COM is only for mail, so
we'll ignore that one.

However, vmaxx.com (again, it is "On Hold" so you can't do normal DNS
lookups for it -- in other words, if you just try to go to
www.vmaxx.com, you won't be able to get it to do the lookup). However,
if you do things manually, things get interesting. Ok, here we go...

Now, VMAXX.COM's primary nameserver is CEREBUS.MCS.COM, which makes
sense because that is the provider where their mail goes (and VMTI.COM's
mail also). The secondary DNS for VMAXX is GENESIS.NPR.LEGENT.COM.
However, GENESIS has no records for VMAXX.COM at all -- just plain
doesn't seem to know or care that it exists -- so we'll forget the
secondary. Now, the primary (CEREBUS) does still have DNS information
for VMAXX.COM, mainly just saying were mail to someone at VMAXX.COM
should be forwarded to (uucp1.mcs.net). Fine. Now, when asking CEREBUS
what hosts it actually knows about in the VMAXX.COM domain, it just
lists one -- which is the same machine for ftp.vmaxx.com and
www.vmaxx.com. So, manually asking CEREBUS to look up www.vmaxx.com for
us (again, it won't work unless it is done manually through the DNS
machine because they have let their domain registration expire) --
anyways, CEREBUS gives us 205.164.8.179. So, the old www.vmaxx.com
should be 205.164.8.179 if they paid their overdue regisration fee with
InterNIC. However, doing a reverse lookup on that IP states that it is
not owned by VMAXX.COM, but is instead WWW.LABRYNTH.COM! Going there
(by using www.labrynth.com or the IP 205.164.8.179) shows that the site
does exist -- and it appears to be some consultant company -- they
provide, among other things, web page development.

So, it looks like one of two things is going on:

1. VictorMaxx has become Labrynth -- a new company. This I doubt -- I
just don't think it is the case. I think Labrynth and VictorMaxx are
completely unrelated.

or, much more likely...

2. VictorMaxx as VMAXX.COM is gone from the Net and their ISP has given
their IP (which is probably used to make labrynth a virtual domain
anyhow) to a new client -- and simply not removed all of VMAXX.COM's old
information yet (which is a mistake on their part, of course -- and
would cause problems if VictorMaxx suddenly paid and got VMAXX.COM
back).

I think #2 is it -- they've simply done away with VMAXX.COM and are now
just using VMTI.COM -- which does not yet have a web-site.

Guess that is all that I have -- I just wanted to share the info that I
could find out. My best guess is still that VictorMaxx possibly filed
Chapter 11 and reorganized as VictorMaxx Technologies, Inc. -- that
seems the most likely explanation based on what I've come across...

Talk to you all later...
