OK, this is a serious question...

Why did SGI call it Cosmo?

Cosmo makes me think of that Kramer guy from Seinfeld.
That seems like poor marketing.

Is Cosmo an acronym?  Does its name reveal its integral nature
to a bigger picture?   I mean, Cosmo*S* would sound a bit more
universal.

I do have a curiousity about where names come from so please
do not mistake the question for sarcasm.
