It is the fourth in a run of successful conferences and it represents Europe's largest and most important event in Virtual Reality, Virtual World Environments and VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language). This year's "Virtual World '97" is particularly dedicated to VRML. The response has been so tremendous that the VRML track has been expanded into an entire VRML-centric third day. The event is hosted the by the Astronaut Training Department of the German Aerospace Establishment. (DLR) in the impressive "Simulation Hall", a 50x40x10 Meter facility that normally is used as an international astronaut training facility. The "Virtual World '97" is a joint production of the Computerwoche Verlag GMBH (IDG Germany) and the German Aerospace Establishment (DLR). The event is supported by most German research institutions.
