For those of you traveling to Las Vegas for COMDEX (or some other
time) ... Check out the "Sahara Speedworld" at the Sahara Hotel It is
the world's largest commercial distributed VR installation (ignoring
multi-player games over private/internet).

Basically it is a network of 24 Indy Car simulators, where each car
has a 130+deg 3 projector screen (20'diameter), 6DOF motion platform,
16 channels of Audio, force feedback steering, and a very realistic
simulation engine. The underlying network allows 8, 16 or 24
simulators to compete on a variety of race tracks (LV Motor Speedway -
trioval, and a road course around The Strip) in either a lite or pro
car setup.

Sci.virutal-worlds gets a bit of credit for helping me and Illusion pull
this project off. I found both technologies and people here on the list.

Thanks for the help and time!

Jerry Isdale - ex-homebrew VR guy.
