I'm not sure about VRML on the fly, but it could be done. There was
something done at Berkley, on which I'm doing a project this year,
about architectural reconstruction from photographs, then creating
novell views and fly-bys by epipolar geometry from the 'nearest'
photograph. I can see how it could easily be put into VRML, but don't
think anyone has done it yet.
