I am Shaw , I am currently working on the impact of internet to the form of city. I am proposing a combination of VR and internet concept (sort of like the idea shown in the movie " Disclosure"). If the theory is put into pratice, it will replace most of college, office, firm, university, school or any kind of facilcities that does not required physical movement. The outcome can be encouraging or dangerous : The good side would be it can be used to reduce the traffic flow in the city, which has been a major problem throughout the world. It would be possible to preserve the quality of urban life or the original meaning of city as a place to exchage information, resources..... The unfornate outcome is they (VR + Internet) will become just another expensive toy; or reduce individual interactivity, isolate themselves from the public community, or even worse, degrade the public communuty...
