Hi

Does any one know of any good links to exact ('real') 3D cities on the
web, either in VRML or Superscape or any other method. I mean ones
that actually look like the city they are not a 'generalised' view,
ie. nice straight roads and cuboid buildings . This means preferably
real 3D buildings on a real 3D terrain (all too many models are
flat!). If so can you supply links to them as this will help as
background to my research. I'll collate a list and return it to the
group as an example of what is going on in this area of VR along with
any comments and views from me and others. If you are currently
building this kind of world (or have built one) what have been your
main problems you've had to overcome. Also if anybody else has any
comments about this type of VR world I'd be interested in them too.
Everybody who gets quoted in my work will be fully referenced so you
may get to see your name in print. If so I'll llet you know. Either
respond to this group or even better to Scott.Parsley@ncl.ac.uk if you
want you can see my basic attempts at;

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~n230208/vrnewc/index.html

The demo requires either Netscape or IE with the Viscape plugin from
Superscape ( http://www.superscape.com/ ) and a Windows platform.

Cheers, Scott

Apologies if you also got this on the comp.lang.vrml group
