Hello,

I'm an adult PhD student at Arizona State University in the
Educational Media and Computing department. I'm an Alias 3D/animation
certified instructor and familiar with most of the
digital/3D/video/audio apps available -

However, I'm interested in doing research in the area of VR,
especially in conjunction with realtime bio-feedback/physiological
feedback. Unfortunately no one I can find at ASU is interested or
conversant in this topic. Sorry to say the administration types seem
to be down-right dumb-founded when I attempt to talk with them about
it.

I'm not a programmmer. I'm not interested in the hardware or coding
aspects of this research - though I realize that they are vital
components. I am interested in the incredible potential that this area
of research has for education, self study, art, psychology and almost
every other area of human endeavor one might imagine.

I spoke with a guy in Santa Monica, CA a few weeks ago and he seemed
to understand the implications of this research and was one of the few
I've spoken with that was enthusiastic about it.. He gave me his card
which I looked at it a couple of weeks later - He was vice-president
of SGI and senior research scientist.

Surely I don't have to go to that level to find people who understand
the potential of this research. Is anyone out there looking at what
will happen when we turn to a computer screen and see nothing but
ourselves?

If so, I would appreciate any collaboration/discussion.

Joe

P.S. I'm not a nut.
